Le Havre

Last week-end I had the opportunity to travel to Le Havre for the day with several other assistants.
It is a costal city in Normandy and the day was perfect for visiting the docks and going to the beach!

We arrived at the train station and then walked along the river to a shopping center nearby where we ate lunch and met the assistant who lives in Le Havre.

After that we went to visit the beach.  The water was very cold, but there was one brave soul trying to swim. Not sure what was wrong with him; we stayed far away.

The beaches here in Normandy are quite pretty, though they are definitely hard to walk on because of the large round stones. It's not a beach where you take off your shoes. There is actually only one sand beach in Normandy.

This man really knows how to do it. Just come and lie in the sun anytime it's not raining in Normandy...

My friend from England took this picture of us.

We wanted a picture of all of us together, but Jamie ran off right when we asked a stranger to take our picture...so it ended up as just the girls again.

We sat down for a bit on the beach before we went back to the shopping center to "shop." It was more just looking around at this and that. I don't have any money to shop anyway, so shopping is a nonexistent idea for me right now!

Before we left, we stopped by the skate park to watch the kids playing. I swear I thought someone was going to crack their head open right before our eyes, but to my amazement nobody collided just then.

These two guys acted like they owned the place. They were on skates and were doing some stuff I wouldn't even dream of in a hundred years. I'm sure I'd break my neck.
